Nathan received his Bachelor's of Music Education from Iowa State University and holds a Master's of Education/Wind Band Conducting from Sam Houston State University. Nathan has been teaching 8th and 9th grade bands at Southview Middle School in Ankeny for the last 11 years where his bands and percussion groups have earned many honors. He is responsible for all Homeschool Band of Central Iowa rehearsals and teaches the brass, woodwind and percussion lessons.

Kylie has her BS from Iowa State University where she majored in music and was principal flute in the highly acclaimed ISU Wind Ensemble. She assists with band rehearsal, teaches all flute lessons and oversees the Homeschool Choir of Central Iowa program. She also homeschools their 3 boys.

Nicole will be joining the Homeschool Arts team as a choir teacher.

Kellie will be joining the Homeschool Arts team as a show choir consultant.

Our Family has been homeschooling since the fall of 2015.  Our oldest boys were blessed to have a caring public educator for 4 year old preschool who had the staff and resources to challenge them both in unique ways and see how they were both gifted in their own ways. When finding out Kindergarten was going to be a very different experience, we decided to try homeschooling to continue to challenge our boys while still allowing them to be children and learn through experiences. We fell in love with all the ways it allows our kids to learn in unique ways, excel at the pace they feel comfortable and interact with other students and families outside of their age group. Our home school journey was cemented when we found an amazing and supportive peer group in HSAP, coop and ninja team. Homeschool Arts is our way of creating more offerings to the homeschool community that benefit the greater community as well as our musical clan!
